Hasps
For low security sealing of hasps, our band seals, plastic seals or padlock seal will be acceptable. For high security applications, we recommend a cable seal or bolt seal.
Plastic Band Seals
Plastic band seals are fixed length seals, which create a 3 inch loop (7 inch circumference). They are affordably priced and intended for low and medium security applications. They offer a lower cost alternative to metal band seals, and are easy to install and remove. They have a low break strength, which allows the seals to removed manually without hand tools. All plastic band seals feature a unique, pre-assigned consecutive serial number.
Common applications for plastic band seals are:
- Truck and trailer doors
- Shipping containers
- Rail car doors
- Fire doors
- Tool box
- Sprinkler systems
- Storage bins
- Transfer hoppers
- Valves
- Utility meters
- Any container with a hasp

Metal Band Security Seals
Metal band seals are fixed length seals, which create a 3 inch loop.
Constructed of tinned galvanized steel, these seals are used for trucks, trailers, railcars and a wide range of other applications. Metal band seals are durable in extreme weather conditions.
Our metal band seals feature a unique pre-assigned consecutive serial number and they are embossed with the word "SECURED".
Metal band seals come in two varieties: flat band seals and globe band seals. Flat seals are intended for low security applications where economy and convenience are top priorities. Globe seals have a globe-sheaped locking mechanism, along with a higher break strength (100 lbs) compared to the flat seals (50 lbs), and require a hand tool such as scissors or tin snips for removal.

Bolt Seals
Shipments that cross international borders usually require a seal which is rated as High Security. Bolt security seals are very durable and intended for securing latches and hasps in high security applications, such as:
- Shipping containers
- Trucks and trailers
- Railcars
- Other heavy-duty sealing applications
All of our bolt seals qualify as "High Security" seals, comply with ISO 17712, and are C-TPAT compliant. Our bolt seals have unique serial numbers which can be recorded on shipping documents and in tracking systems, and checked at various points en route for added security.
Our bolt seals are offered in multiple colors, which allows for color coding. Customized bolt seals provide added security. The stock bolt seals (red, blue, yellow) can be customized by imprinting the bolt only. Or we have yellow bolt seals which can be customized on the bolt and barrel.

Plastic Padlock Seals
Plastic padlock style seals are commonly used as tamper-indicative seals for use on utility meters. Removal of these seals requires cutting the wire shackle, which provides clear evidence of tampering. Plastic security seals are intended for low and medium security applications. Because the shackle must be destroyed in order for the seal to be removed, each tamper-evident padlock seal can only be used a single time.
Our stock padlock seals include a writable panel to record a date, phone number, contact name, etc. Use a black felt tip marker or ink pen for marking. For maximum durability outdoors, apply clear tape over the printed information.

Cable Seals for Cargo Containers, Trailers, and Hasps
Cable seals consist of a cable and a locking mechanism permanently connected to one end of the cable, allowing the other end of the cable to be fed through a hasp or wrapped around a bar, and then back into the locking mechanism to create a closed and secure loop. After the locking mechanism is engaged, the cable seal can only be removed with a cable or bolt cutter.
Adjustable cable seals allow the cable to be positioned in the locking mechanism at varying lengths in order to remove unneccssary slack. Fixed-length cable seals are not adjustable, and may need to be routed around keeper bars multiple times in order to eliminate slack.
Shipments that cross international borders usually require a seal which is rated as "high security." To qualify as a high security seal and comply with ISO 17712, the cable seal diameter must be a minimum of 3.5mm; this is the minimum cable diameter required to pass the shear test of ISO 17712. LidunHologram's certificate of conformance for the ISO 17712:2010 standard for cable seals is available here.
All of our cable seals are manufactured in facilities that are C-TPAT compliant. All of our cable seals feature serial numbers for an additional level of security.
