Blank Holographic ID Cards
Blank Holographic ID cards help fight fake IDs and control access to your property and events. They are available with stock and custom hologram images already imprinted on the card. Adding a holographic graphic to your identification card combats counterfeiting.
Since the hologram imprint is intergral to the ID card, there are several benefits:
- Ready for printing using any standard ID card printer. An expensive lamination station is NOT required.
- No additional labor to affix a hologram onto the card.
- The hologram cannot be removed from the card, which improves security.
Choosing A Holographic ID Card
Cards with Surface Foil Holograms do not have a top lamination over the hologram. These are more affordable. To assure consistent printing, the printed information should be a minimum of 1/8 inch away from the foil area. Also, the exposed foil may shorten the life of the print head on some ID card printers.
Cards with Embedded Holograms have a clear film applied over the foil imprint. This top lamination allows consistent printing anywhere on the ID card without shortening the print head life. Also, printing over a silver metallic imprint can create an attractive and unique effect (YMC inks are translucent, which allows the hologram to be seen through the colored ink).
Composite cards (60/40) are more durable than 100% PVC. Composite cards are often used in ski resorts where durability and cold weather exposure are essential.
A custom imprint of your text or logo offers more security. Allow 3 to 4 weeks for delivery on custom cards.
